What to check before you swap LTC
- Older Litecoin P2SH addresses start with 3, exactly like Bitcoin P2SH addresses, so a Bitcoin address pasted by mistake would look valid. ShadowSwap refuses 3… addresses for LTC payouts: use your wallet’s ltc1…, L… or M… address.
- Litecoin’s MWEB (MimbleWimble extension block) addresses, which start with ltcmweb1, are not accepted as payout addresses. Your LTC deposit is a regular, public transaction to an ltc1… address, even if you send it from an MWEB balance.
- Send LTC on the Litecoin network itself. LTC-labelled tokens on other networks are different assets and cannot be sent to a Litecoin deposit address.
- Like Bitcoin, Litecoin balances are UTXOs, so the coins your wallet picks to fund the deposit can be linked together on-chain.
ShadowSwap adds no spread and no service fee: the rate is the ratio of the two coins’ live market prices, so “You receive” is your amount × that rate.
