What to check before you swap BCH
- BCH and BTC are separate coins on separate blockchains. Send only BCH to a Bitcoin Cash deposit address, and give a BCH address for a BCH payout.
- Old-style (legacy) Bitcoin Cash addresses starting with 1 or 3 look exactly like Bitcoin addresses, so ShadowSwap refuses them. Use the CashAddr form your wallet shows (bitcoincash:q… or bitcoincash:p…); the prefix is optional.
- CashAddr has a built-in checksum: the payout form rejects an address with a typo before an order is created.
- Token-aware CashAddr addresses (bitcoincash:z… or r…) are not accepted for payouts; use your wallet’s regular BCH address.
ShadowSwap adds no spread and no service fee: the rate is the ratio of the two coins’ live market prices, so “You receive” is your amount × that rate.
