Swap Bitcoin (BTC) Without KYC: Networks, Limits and Checks
ShadowSwap swaps native bitcoin (BTC) on the Bitcoin network only, with no account or KYC. Wrapped bitcoin tokens such as WBTC and BTCB are separate assets on other networks.
BTC on ShadowSwap, network by network
Limits apply to the amount you send. Times are the deposit confirmations at typical block times; payouts are then sent manually by the ShadowSwap team.
| Network | Type / contract | Limits per swap | Deposit credited | Address format | Swap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | Native coin | 0.001 – 100 BTC | After 3 confirmations on Bitcoin (about 30 min to confirm on Bitcoin + manual payout) | starts with bc1, 1 or 3 | Swap |
What to check before you swap BTC
- Send BTC on the Bitcoin network from a wallet you control; ShadowSwap does not accept Lightning payments.
- Use a fresh receiving address for your BTC payout. Bitcoin’s own privacy guidance recommends a new address for every payment you receive, and reusing one links its whole history together.
- Your wallet chooses which coins (UTXOs) fund your deposit. Spending several together lets observers assume they belong to the same wallet, so use coin control if your wallet offers it.
- WBTC (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum One) and BTCB (BNB Chain) are tokens priced like BTC on ShadowSwap, but they are not bitcoin: they need an address on their own network.
ShadowSwap adds no spread and no service fee: the rate is the ratio of the two coins’ live market prices, so “You receive” is your amount × that rate. The only deduction is the destination network fee for sending your coins, taken from the payout. Each quote is valid for 60 seconds. See fees and the network guide for every network's confirmations.
