Crypto Unit Converter: Sats, Gwei, Lamports, Sun
Convert between a coin and its smallest units, and to US dollars. Type in any field; the others update with exact math, so 0.1 BTC is always exactly 10,000,000 sats.
The units
- 1 BTC = 100,000,000 satoshis (sats). Bitcoin fees are quoted in sats per virtual byte.
- 1 ETH = 1,000,000,000 gwei = 1018 wei. Gas prices are quoted in gwei.
- 1 SOL = 1,000,000,000 lamports. Solana's base fee is 5,000 lamports per signature.
- 1 TRX = 1,000,000 sun. Tron energy and bandwidth prices are quoted in sun.
Current fees in these units are on the network fees page.
How to use it
- Find the coin: BTC, ETH, SOL or TRX.
- Type an amount in any unit, or in USD. The other fields of that coin update as you type.
- Copy the value you need. Amounts are exact, with trailing zeros removed; USD is cut (not rounded) to 4 decimals.
Frequently asked questions
100,000,000. One satoshi is 0.00000001 BTC, the smallest amount the Bitcoin network can transfer.
Wei is the smallest unit of ETH (10^18 wei = 1 ETH). Gwei is a billion wei (10^9), the unit wallets use for gas prices, so 1 ETH = 1,000,000,000 gwei.
They are the smallest units of their networks and cannot be divided, so an amount below one of them doesn’t exist on chain. The converter rejects it instead of rounding.
Amount × the coin's live USD price from ShadowSwap's price feed (refreshed every minute), calculated with exact decimal arithmetic and cut to 4 decimals. If the price is stale, no USD value is shown.
Tokens have their own decimals (USDT has 6 on Tron and Ethereum, 18 on BNB Chain), so they are not covered here. The coins above are the units fees are paid in.
